Lake of Bourget

The Lake of Bourget, in the Savoie department, is the biggest natural lake in France with a surface area of 44.5 km². Surrounded by the Jura foothills and the Alpine Beauges mountains, the lake is nearby Aix-les-Bains and Chambéry. With its many beaches welcoming thousands of holidaymakers each summer, it is also a very popular region in the Rhône-Alpes region for camping holidays at the waterside. It is a great place for water sports, such as water-skiing, sailing, jet-skiing and canoeing.
