Languedoc, THE major camping destination in France

Beaches for as far as the eye can see

Étang de Thau

Sheltered by ramparts dating from the 13th century, with the Tour de Constance, built in 1242, towering above it, the small fortified town of Aigues-Mortes, founded by Saint-Louis, is among the curiosities of the Camargue.

This perfectly protected jewel should be visited in two phases: from the ramparts (with a view over Camargue and the salt marshes) and by walking along the little streets, before enjoying a drink at Place Saint-Louis.

A real concentration of history with, at its feet, the Salins du Midi: the biggest production centre for sea salt in France.
