In the west of Ile de Ré, along the completely unspoilt coast, the Baleines campsite invites you for holidays at the heart of nature, at the foot of one of the most majestic monuments on the island: the Baleines lighthouse.

This is one of the most visited French islands in summer, and yet… At the western point of Ile de Ré, Les Baleines 3-star campsite offers spacious pitches at the very heart of nature. Basic pitches for traditional camping, but also mobile homes and lodges to rent on site.

Nature and ecology are our watchwords

The campsite, which was awarded the prestigious European Ecolabel in 2013, has 199 pitches and fully assumes its "human scale", for a family-friendly – and ecological – stay. And to preserve the natural setting, there is no swimming pool or water park – only the sea a few yards away. But the campsite is not without sports and leisure activities: families have access to a boules pitch, table-tennis tables, a play area for children, a minigolf course and bikes to rent.

A completely unspoilt beach

We have already mentioned that the Baleines campsite is in a preserved natural environment. It has direct access to the sea, so once our guests have crossed the dunes, they have access to a beach that could not have a more suitable name: La Côte Sauvage (The Wild Coast).
